Dr. Olaolu Odemuyiwa is a double American Board-Certified physician who has practiced in America for about 30 years. Due to firsthand experiences, He found out there is a vacuum in the health care delivery system in Lagos and in Nigeria as a whole, which is the provision of in-patient physical rehabilitation hospitals.
He therefore built and opened the first purpose-built in-patient physical rehabilitation centre in Lagos, Nigeria, situated along the Lekki Epe express way after Abraham Adesanya in Ajiwe just before Lagos Business School. Caring Habitat is a 40-bed facility and serves to cater to individuals who are too sick to stay at home and too well to be in an acute care hospital. This clogs the system and our private hospitals that operate like tertiary health institutions are bed poor.
